Hart & Co. Real Estate

Focus at the movies and in life is critical for understanding. I can help you focus
your efforts to find a suitable home. I can offer you ways to fix and/or adjust your mortgage needs.
I can tell you what historical trends have been and share with you my expectations for the future. I can direct you to make a huge investment that will offer a lifetime of residual benefits. It’s still up to you to make a decision to buy a ticket.

I watched the spectacle of the Academy Awards that takes place every year about this time. This mutual admiration society of entertainers that honors the great movies and talents in their business always has something that captures our attention. This year the Lord of The Rings: the Return of the King won 11 Oscars, all that it was nominated for.

The epic battle to save Middle Earth captures our attention and supports a vague awareness we all have about the forces of good and evil. While we must balance our wants and needs to survive, none of us are getting out of here alive. It also confirms to us that life in the shire and a home of your own is wonderful.

YOU SNOOZE…YOU LOOSE! Life requires us to pay attention. It is our attention that the market place covets, or to be less crass, it’s your thoughtful consideration that I value as a sales person. No matter where we find ourselves, at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder or in a lofty ivory tower above the fray we are valued by those who want to share their message with us.

This years great Real Estate movie, the House of Sand and Fog, reminded me of how critical my job is as a councilor on real estate matters can be. Living a lie Massoud Amir Behrani, once a member of the Shah of Iran’s inner circle, is seen now working on a road crew for Cal-Trans as he stakes out a living in America with his family. He sees his opportunity for advancement in society when he discovers a home seized for back taxes and buys it. This film demonstrated the agonizing impact that a home can have on a family and the tragic consequences that happen when we stop paying attention. The loss of the home to the former owner tears away her last hope of a stable life, a home where family memories were made and joy once existed.

Food and shelter are basic commodities that will endure to the end of time. I love being a RE Broker, guiding people with basic needs to rise to the next level; to a place where design and style merge with practical function, a place that can uplift the soul. Together we meet the challenges of ownership, of financing a home and making a life. We negotiate with competing forces and I watch as people discover for themselves the benefits a home offers. They help themselves and all I do is mentor them, show them how to do it and advise them what has worked for others.

Renting is easy… owning requires some personal commitment. A home will help forge a purpose. When we own something it means being responsible. It was George Bernard Shaw who said, “This is the true joy of life: that being used up for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clot of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.”… this is to be avoided. . Finding your purpose is the quest that each of us can pursue if we are not too timid to take a risk, stretch our vision and strive to grow.

I have been amazed to watch clients use their home and employ a little discipline to garner wealth. With modest income they can leverage their investment to afford a middle class lifestyle in one of the most expensive communities in the world. Their home is where their joy starts. I have watched others with incomes in excess of $10,000 per mo. and no home of their own struggle to meet tax obligations as they strive to keep two cars maintained, manage family obligations and fret about how their life, a successful life on the surface, is turmoil and chaos. Like the movies, life is not always what it appears.

You could be walking down the RED CARPET next year…your own. The movies entertain us, but also reflect a wide variety of issues, realities and human conditions that tug at our emotions… just like our homes. If you can produce, I can direct.
